MOTHER’S DAY MAYHEM!

MOTHER'S DAY MAYHEM!

It’s almost Mother’s Day . . .

The cubs want to make something special for their mother, so they get out colored paper, scissors, crayons, colored pencils and glue.

They each make her a beautiful card . . .

And hide them under Fluffy’s bed until the special day, so they can surprise her!

When they’re finished, they go talk to their father.  “We’d like to do something besides just making cards for Mother’s Day.  Can you think of any ideas?”

“Well,” Cornelius ponders, “I guess you could help make her breakfast and serve it to her in bed.”

“Yes, yes!”  The children shout!

The morning of Mother’s Day, the children get up early and tell their mother to stay in bed, so they can bring her a surprise!

Alice readily agrees, and turns over for a much appreciated sleep-in!”

Cornelius and the children put on their aprons . . .

And get busy in the kitchen.

Sometime later, Alice is awakened by all kinds of noises, and begins to smell wonderful aromas coming from the kitchen.

After a very long time, a beautiful tray of bacon and egg, toast, milk, blueberries and hot cocoa with marshmallows is ready for delivery.  (Along with a pretty flower and the hand-made cards.)

Finally, The children (and Cornelius), arrive with the much anticipated tray . . .

“Oh, my!” Says Alice.  “What a lucky mother I am to have such thoughtful children!”  As she gives Cornelius a wink!

When she’s finished, Alice takes the tray out to the kitchen . . .

“OH MY!” she again says as she surveys what effort it must have taken to fix her breakfast!

“Where are those cute little helpers?”  She asks, as it becomes more apparent why it took so long to prepare!

“Don’t worry, we’ll clean it all up!” Say Cornelius and the cubs.  “You just sit and watch us!”

“Oh, no . . .  That’s okay.”  Alice muses.  “I’ll help!”  (She thinks that this time she probably needs to be present!)

After what seems like several more hours, the kitchen and surrounding areas are cleaned and everything put away.

That afternoon, when they all return home from church, they have their annual Mother’s Day picture taken with the beautiful plant that was given to all the mothers.  (Alice is delighted that it matched their “church bows!”)

Later that evening, they all remember what a memorable Mother’s Day it has been, even though it started out with “much kitchen mayhem!”

Happy Mother’s Day to All!!

They can “bear-ly” wait for you to come and visit again . . .
