A COTTAGE CHRISTMAS!
It’s December 1st. The Vanderbears start decorating their country cottage for “the most wonderful time of the year!”
They excitedly set up the Christmas tree . . .
This is the “Year of The Snowball,” so they decorate it with some cotton balls and a few candy canes.
They add snowball garlands along the fireplace, hutch, two more cabinets, a mirror and the backs of chairs . . .
Cornelius and Fuzzy get the job done as Alice and Muffy nervously look on, thinking there must be a better way!
The hutch is looking great!
Alice hangs more garlands, while Muffy helps in the candy cane department. Be careful, Muffy!
More garlands are hung . . .
Everything is looking so festive all over their country cottage.
Next, the stockings are hung by the fireplace.
Cornelius and Fuzzy decide the tree outside needs some candy canes too . . .
(The Vanderbears need to take a course in safety!)
They also hang a wreath on the front door.
Meanwhile, Alice, Fluffy and Muffy make cookies and chocolates for any visitors (or any Vanderbears that might be passing by) . . .
Alice stirs the chocolate, while Fluffy and Muffy decide what cookies they want to make.
Hmmm . . . Decisions, decisions!
Yum! Everything looks fabulous!
It’s getting close to the Big Day . . .
The table is set for a “Snowman Snack” on Christmas Eve . . .
Burgers (in the “sort-of” shape of snowmen), with all the fixins!
After dinner, the children set out cookies and milk for Santa. (It’s a good thing the fire is out!)
And carrots outside for the reindeer!
Next, the table is set for Christmas morning. This time, Alice sets it for a “Gingerbread Gathering.”
Everyone is in bed early so Santa can come!
The next morning, the children awake to the smell of Gingerbread-shaped rolls, eggs, bacon, and hot cocoa.
But before they eat, they run to the tree to see what Santa has brought!
Yippee! He’s been here!!
They eagerly open their presents! What a wonderful Christmas!
Finally the table is set for Christmas dinner.
The food is prepared. (It’s a good thing Alice likes to set the table and cook multiple times during the holidays!) She’s outdone herself this time.
Appetizers . . .
And more appetizers.
Sliced ham with pineapple and maraschino cherries for the main course . . .
Mashed potatoes . . .
Asparagus . . .
Giant peas and baby carrots . . .
Fancy rolls and butter . . .
Festive fruits . . .
And some tomatoes and onions – One of the bears favorite dishes!
All deliciously topped off with Alice’s famous Figgy Pudding!
What a fabulous feast!
Seconds, anyone? Sorry, there’s not much left!
What a most delightful day! They’ve played and eaten their way through another wonderful Christmas!
Merry Christmas to All!!
They can “bear-ly” wait for you to come and visit again . . .
