NEW YEAR'S NONSENSE!
It’s almost time to ring in the New Year! The Vanderbears have all been invited (Including Lulu and Purrlie), to attend a fancy party on New Year’s Eve.
They get all dressed up in their finest clothes (including Lulu and Purrlie)! They check out the beautiful tree, and have a wonderful time visiting and eating. But they can hardly wait to get home and get out of their itchy clothes and tight-fitting shoes.
Ah . . . home at last and into their more comfortable attire. Now it’s time to really celebrate New Year’s Eve!
Alice gets out cheese and crackers, fruits, shrimp, cold cuts, more crackers and all kinds of munchables. She even sets out goblets for some sparkling cider to toast the New Year.
You’d have thought the Vanderbears hadn’t had anything to eat lately, as they are getting in Alice’s way checking out all of the “fixins!”
She hasn’t forgotten any leftover sweets from Christmas either. It’s one last chance to indulge before any serious dieting begins!
They play every game in their cottage . . .
And eat practically everything in sight.
But eyelids start to get heavy and little bears begin to drift off . . . one by one.
Then, as the clock reaches 11:45, Cornelius conks out . . .
And Alice isn’t far behind . . .
As she begins to nod off, Alice thinks to herself, “What nonsense for bears to try to stay awake in the middle of winter!”
It’s midnight! Shhh . . . Let sleeping bears lie!
Happy New Year to All!
They can “bear-ly” wait for you to come and visit again . . .
